Make sure your kids have identification when traveling with them. If you are in an area that still has pay phones, give the kids enough money to use one in case of emergency. Traveling with a current picture of a child companion is also a must; be sure to write his or her current weight and height on the back of the photo.
Ask for a room located on a higher floor. Although it might seem inconsequential, burglars can access your room more easily if it's on the first or ground floor. If possible, avoid rooms where sliding doors are present. Glass or sliding doors are easier to damage.
If you are thinking about going to a specific place that sells tickets, head to its website and see if it is possible to buy and print tickets from there. Sometimes there is a ticket fee, but already having your ticket means you don't have to stand in long lines, so the fee is totally worth it. If the park you are visiting has a timed entry, you can skip admission lines too.
When you pack for your vacation, think about what activities you will be doing. A light, smart packing job will make any trip easier and more enjoyable.
Don't let your cruise be the first place you realize that you get seasick. It could really turn your dream adventure into a nightmare. You will be, more than likely, sick in bed for the duration of your vacation. Take a small boat trip before your cruise to see if you get seasick. If you do, make sure to get some medication that can help with this problem.
