Affiliate Marketing is a marketing practice in which a business rewards the affiliate for each customer brought about by the affiliates marketing efforts. Examples include cash rewards for the completion of a sale from a customer visiting the affiliate's website. The network has three main players: the merchant or retailer, the publisher or affiliate, and the customer who makes the purchase. Eighty percent of all affiliate programs today use revenue sharing or cost per sale as their compensation method to affiliates.

Clickbank is an easy way to get started in affiliate marketing. Clickbank will pay you up to 75% commission for selling their e-books on your website. Finding products to promote on Clickbank is difficult to say the least, however, Wealthy Affiliate University provides a Clickbank research tool that you can use free as a member. This tool will show you the "Hot 20 Picks", the "Top New Products", and the "Not So Hot". This tool also shows the "Product Momentum", and the "Refund Rate" for each product listed. This is a great tool that I have used many times to successfully promote products from Clickbank.

Article marketing is another way an affiliate can generate income. In this practice an affiliate is given compensation for every customer that is directed to the business and makes a purchase from reading their article. It has been my experience that when you write an article you are forced to do a lot of research before you start writing. Don't worry though, most of this research can all be done on the internet.

Once you have your article written, 500 words or so, you will want to submit it to as many article directories as you can in hopes that it will get picked up and ranked by the major search engines. When this happens it will be available for millions to see on the internet and hopefully it will direct those viewers back to your website to make a purchase which means commission for you.

Wealthy Affiliate has a resource called "Rapid Writer" which is free to it's members. This tool tracks your word count and keyword density which is very helpful in writing articles acceptable for the major article directories. "Rapid Writer" is very easy to use and stores all your articles in a data base for easy reference on the future projects.

In conclusion, I would just like to say that I have found affiliate marketing quite rewarding since I got involved a few months ago. As you can ascertain from my Bio, I have resided in the business world most of my working life since leaving the military in the mid 60s. I have learned a lot, but I still have a lot to learn. After getting involved with quite a few programs which I realize now were all hype and scams, I discovered Wealthy Affiliate University. They have hundreds of training resources and tons of forum support with real life examples of case studies that involve affiliate marketing. Here you can truly learn affiliate marketing from the inside out. I have seen my business skyrocket since I joined. You can become a success too, right at home, not working for the man.

David Hamilton

http://e.affiliate.marketing.com/
