4 Ways to Transform Your Social Media Marketing Strategy for the Better

Social media marketing is a huge part of digital marketing. It is one of the best channels for most content marketing strategies but sometimes, it can feel like there is no one on the other end of the conversation. If your social media marketing strategy is not bringing you leads, you need to change your strategy. Doing this will help you connect with your audience better, thereby bringing you more messages and requests. Here are four ways to bolster your social media marketing strategy.

Focus on Interesting Stories

People love a good story. A good story helps form important connections between you and your audience. It does not have to be a personal story either. The stories can be about a past client or people who inspire you. Stories of people who have found great success are also great for keeping your audience engaged. These types of stories help your audience see themselves as the protagonist and want the same success for themselves.

Pivot Towards Your Audience

One of the reasons why you may not be connecting with your audience is because you may be using the wrong social media platform for the wrong audience. For example, if you want to reach millennials, you would have better luck doing that on Instagram than you would on LinkedIn.

Start by identifying your audience and what social media platforms they are likely to be on. Once you have done this, you can start prioritizing the channels that will make it easier to reach your target audience. Anything less than this and you will be wasting your time.

Ask People What Type of Content They Like

Most social media platforms have tools to help you ask your audience what type of content they want to see from you. This includes polls on platforms like Facebook and Twitter to Stories on Instagram. The poll will tell you if you have been creating content that no one is interested in, which may have been leading to your low engagement numbers.

Once you have the results, it is important to remain open to creating unfamiliar types of content. This will help you remain open to learning about topics you can then talk about with your audience.

Add Calls to Action

A mistake many people make is not adding calls to action to their posts. Many people want to be told what to do once they read your content, so add a call to action at the end of the content. It does not have to be the same call to action every time and you can even personalize it for your audience so it is much more relatable.

When creating the call to action, ensure you are clear, and tell people what you want them to do. Doing this is the best way to ensure people take the actions you want them to.

Although social media remains a very potent marketing avenue, it is often underutilized. Many businesses reach out with content that does not appeal to anyone, thereby wasting their time and money. If you feel like this could be you, use the tips above to streamline your strategy for better engagement.
