So, we finally convinced you to use video content for your business, huh? (winky face)
Now that you're on board, did you know that VIDEO CONTENT IS NOT ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL?
The video content that we use for websites versus YouTube versus your social media platforms all vary.
Here are a couple of key elements that will help you.
The most common forms are SHORT FORM & LONG FORM VIDEO.
SHORT FORM VIDEO:
Short form video can be anywhere from under 15 seconds up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
These are typically what we see on INSTAGRAM REELS & TIKTOK videos.
They're BETTER FOR SOCIAL MEDIA typically, and they're more EASILY/QUICKLY CONSUMED BY VIEWERS.
One drawback to short form video is that your attention grabber needs to be immediate - within the first 2-3 seconds, max!
Think about how you consume video content on TikTok or Instagram Reels… if you're not captivated right away, oftentimes you scroll right past it without giving it a chance.
LONG FORM VIDEO:
Long form video can be anything over 2 minutes and 30 seconds, typically around the 10-minute mark and beyond.
These forms of videos are BETTER FOR YOUTUBE AND FOR YOUR WEBSITE and can be optimized with the use of timestamps, which we will talk about in our next email.
Benefits of long form video allow for MORE EDUCATION, like webinars and tutorials.
It gives more time for the author or presenter to make an EMOTIONAL CONNECTION, to include KEYWORDS, and share a LARGER MESSAGE.
Another benefit of long form video is that it can be REPURPOSED INTO SHORT FORM VIDEO for future use in the form of social media teasers, in blogs, etc.
Both forms of video have their benefits; both also have very different purposes.
Your business can benefit from both forms of video content to ADD A LOT OF VALUE to your internet presence for your brand.
