What is a Social Media Handle?
OK - this may seem ‘basic’, however, I wanted to give some simple info on this easy topic b/c a few people have asked. :)
A Social media handle is a name that the public sees - it has the (@) symbol before it.
For example, for me, my TikTok social media handle is @Louie_Bischoff.
You want to use your personal/business/brand handle so that people can easily find your account, and tag you in shared content/comments.
Make your Social Media handle directly related to your brand so that people can connect you with your target audience, and engage you with customers so your business will grow
To make your Social Media Handle a good one, follow these tips:
Make it Concise: Shorter social media handles are easier to remember
Make it Descriptive: Your business handle should shortly describe the business you are in.
Make it Easy to Read: If you want your brand to spread by word-of-mouth should be easy to spell & so that people can find you quickly without confusion

Prior to focusing on Digital Advertising, she built a career in the consumer product industry as a Product Manager. Louie was an award-winning adjunct faculty member at Thunderbird Graduate School where she has taught Business Communication/ Business Writing classes. She also lived overseas in Taipei, Taiwan for six years while teaching business communications with international companies. In addition to her MBA in International Management, she has her BA in Broadcast Journalism/English (minor) from the University of Arizona. Louie has two teenage sons.
